| Informed Families' Programs

Informed Families offers a wide variety of programs and services across the State of Florida aimed at preventing children's substance abuse and promoting healthy behaviors among children and families. Let's work together to help keep children safe, healthy, and drug-free!
Informed Families' Programs Include:
- Community Action Teams (CATs): Working with schools in order to deliver powerful anti-drug and anti-alcohol messages to students and spread the message of substance abuse prevention, CATs provide a necessary link between education and prevention.
- Family Empowerment Program
- Miami Shores Community Needs Assessment: A community coalition that pairs Informed Families leadership and knowledge with community leaders in order to address problems of underage drinking and drug abuse in the Miami Shores area.
- Parent Peer Groups (PPGs): Working with the valuable Parent Pilot Kit, parents are encouraged to create informal networks and communicate with fellow parents about important issues such as substance abuse prevention.

Informed Families' Campaigns Include:
- Family Day: Created by the National Center on Alcohol and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University, Family Day is a day to eat dinner with your family, encouraging conversation and better communication between parents and children as an effective means of preventing drug and alcohol abuse.
- Safe Homes Safe Parties: Take the pledge, and promise to host safe, alcohol- and drug-free parties in your home.
- Red Ribbon: Commemmorating the death of DEA agent Kiki Camarena, community members across the country wear red ribbons from October 23-31, reinforcing their commitment to a drug-free America.
- Lock Your Meds (LYM): Addressing a rise in prescription medication abuse in teens, LYM encourages parents to lock up and properly dispose of prescription medications.
